Ubisoft to Feature The Next Generation Crew and Ship in Upcoming DLC

Ubisoft to launch Next Generation DLC in July.

Are you ready for your new Star Trek experience? If so, then you’ll be glad to hear that Ubisoft announced the next DLC for award-winning and altogether awesome Star Trek Bridge Crew. Entitled The Next Generation, the upcoming DLC will allow you to share the bridge with Picard or Data and even fight off Borgs or Romulans with the NCC-1701-D.

What’s Up with The Next Generation DLC?

Star Trek Bridge Crew was very well received since it is the only title in the Star Trek video game series that takes full advantage of virtual reality headsets. Compatible with PlayStation’s VR, HTC’s Vice, and Facebook’s Oculus, Bride Crew allows the player to take command of a space cruiser and roam the galaxy.

The Next Generation, Bridge Crew’s upcoming DLC will feature the iconic U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701-D and, of course, the matching crew. But that’s not all.

According to Ubisoft, the DLC, which should start rolling out beginning with the 21st of July, will feature two new missions types, new races, and ship management functions.

The two mission types are called Patrol and Resistance. In Patrol mode, you will assume command of one of the three starships available (Aegis, NCC-1701 or NCC-1701-D) and roam the galaxy as you see fit, completing objectives along the way and fighting random skirmishes.

In Resistance mode, you will need everything you can in order to stop the Borg invasion. But don’t go thinking that you’ll be able to face them guns blazing, because they are just as good as they were portrayed in the original series.

Ubisoft has another goodie in store for us. If you’re partial to the Ongoing Mission mode, you’ll definitely get your chance to cross swords or rather phasers with the Romulans.
